Rosewater is no newcomer to the skin-saving game. It’s been around for years now, and besides its sweet-smelling nature, it is also known for its superior hydrating, reparative and soothing purposes.
So, what exactly is rosewater?
Rosewater is the hydrosol portion you get after distilling it from rose petals, a by-product of rose oil production (for perfumes). As the gentlest of all astringents (a water-based solution that shrinks and constricts the skin), it’s an ideal toner for all skin types especially problematic ones. Essentially, it contains the essence of the plant in every drop.
So here’s why we love this ‘miracle water’:
It’s been used to treat a multitude of problems, including minor cuts and burns, bruising and even insect bites. It’s also safe for sensitive skin, and rose water (and oil) has been used to help with eczema and dermatitis. As an astringent, it tightens the skin, and is a wonderful wrinkle-reducer.
The hydrosol also has a cephalic effect: the scent of it can help you relax and lift your spirits, should you be having a particularly stressful or grievous day. If it’s ingested, rosewater can also help cleanse your system, giving you a cleaner, healthier body.
We’ve added a heavier-duty version to our Molecular Saviour Toner Mist. Enhanced with a heavier molecular weight, the charged rose hydrosol in our mist clings to your skin, giving it time to absorb and work its magic. Chockful of benefits, it helps soothe and heal skin in an instant.
We’ve also taken our rosewater even further by supercharging it with skin healing probiotics that reduce acne and inflammation, and including acai berry bursting with antioxidants and two forms of rose oil (Rosa Damascena and Palma Rosa). Its effortless ease allows it to be used to recharge the skin anytime throughout the day. Through our blind clinical tests, our Molecular Saviour Toner Mist has been shown to reduce non-inflammatory acne lesions by 42.7% in 28 days.
